South Weber sits at the top edge of Davis County, with the Weber River forming most of its northern boundary and Weber County directly across it. Ogden is the nearer city from here, not Salt Lake, and that shows up in who buys: 75 percent of households are married couples and 47.6 percent have children under 18, against a median resident age of 32.4.
The city covers 4.7 square miles and grew from 6,051 residents in 2010 to 7,867 in 2020. It is also close to finished: Weber Canyon, the river and the bluffs cap the city under about 14,000 people. New construction still goes in at Riverwood and Kastle Cove, while Cottonwood Cove, Cherry Farms, Cedar Cove, Peachwood Estates and Heritage Hills hold the established lots.
South Weber Elementary is the Davis School District school inside the city, and students go on to Sunset Junior High. Unlike its neighbors, South Weber is not split across high school boundaries — the whole city goes to Northridge High in Layton. Verify any specific address with the district.
Canyon Meadows Park on Petersen Parkway is the gathering spot: pickleball and basketball courts, a ball diamond, playground, bowery, bike track and a train. The Weber River Parkway Trail ends on Cottonwood Drive and runs mostly paved along the river through Riverdale and Ogden. The Posse Grounds on Old Fort Road keep a paddock and fire pit. Country Fair Days has filled the first week of August since 1976 — parade, car show, Little Buckaroo Rodeo and 5K.
I-84 runs along the river through town and meets I-15 at Riverdale, with US-89 crossing as South Weber Drive. Hill Air Force Base borders the city on the southwest, which is why so many buyers here work on base. FrontRunner is at Clearfield or Roy, and I-84 climbs straight into Weber Canyon at the east edge.
