Bountiful

Bountiful is the largest and most established city in South Davis County, with the widest range of housing. It climbs from Main Street on the valley floor to the Bountiful Boulevard bench above 5,100 feet, and that rise is what creates the view premium up top. The east bench above Orchard Drive holds the larger homes and the valley and Great Salt Lake views, the Bountiful Historic District and downtown hold character homes on mature streets, and the flatter west side toward I-15 is the more attainable end of the market.

Bountiful Heights is the established bench subdivision above town, closest to the views and the canyon trailheads. Maple Hills sits on the east side near Lewis Park, Chelsea Cove holds the south-central streets, and Val Verda is the big mid-century neighborhood in southern Bountiful along the North Salt Lake line.

Nine elementary schools serve the city — Adelaide, Boulton, Bountiful, Holbrook, Meadowbrook, Muir, Oak Hills, Tolman and Valley View — along with four junior highs. The city is split across three high schools: Bountiful High and Viewmont High both sit inside city limits, and some addresses are assigned to Woods Cross High, so confirm the boundary with the Davis School District before you buy.

Downtown Salt Lake City is about 11 miles south. I-15 is the main route, US-89 runs parallel as a useful alternative when the freeway backs up, and the Woods Cross FrontRunner station reaches Salt Lake Central in roughly ten minutes.

The range east of town is Forest Service land, so Bountiful will not grow that way — the payoff is about 44 miles of trail, with Mueller Park climbing 3.3 miles to Elephant Rock alongside North Canyon, Holbrook and Ward Canyon. Weekends also mean Bountiful Ridge Golf Course, the Thursday farmers market and winter ice ribbon at Bountiful Town Square, and Handcart Days in July.
